In the last week and a half, I have traveled over 1,800 miles. It is safe to say that Philip and I like LOVE to travel. Since we have been married (just under 9 months), we have been to 11 states and 2 countries.

Our latest adventures took us to North Carolina to see my wonderful cousins Glamorie, Kip, Rick, Kason and Kaya and my Titi (Aunt) Fefy.
The weather was beautiful (in comparison to the snow storms we left behind in Indianapolis.) We arrived at 3am on Thursday night, so we took most of the day on Friday to relax and recoup (we weren’t complaining.) We went to church on Friday night since it was Easter weekend. We discovered that all the cool churches now have mascots. Who knew?
Saturday we went with Rick, Glam and my little cousin Kason to Carowinds, which is the big amusement park in the Carolinas. It runs directly down North and South Carolina boarder.

We road lots and lots of roller coasters, but our top two (hands down) were the Intimidator and the Night Hawk. It was such a fun day.
On Sunday we went to church in the morning, had some Puerto Rican rice and beans for lunch and then headed off to North Myrtle Beach to spend the night by the ocean. We stayed at a beautiful Bluegreen Resort.
It was pouring down rain on Sunday night, so we went out for dinner at an Australian Grill (obviously), got some ice cream and spent the night in. We kept our balcony door open all night long so we could see, hear, and smell the ocean. I am not a very good sleeper and wake up often in the night, which is usually extremely annoying; however, when you wake up hearing and seeing the waves of the ocean, it is quite splendid.
After sleeping in, we went to a cute restaurant on the ocean on Monday, did some shopping at the outlet stores nearby and then spent some time walking up and down the ocean. We walked into the water just to get out toes wet, and the water was so freezing cold. I made this face:
My husband accused me of hamming it up for the photo, but this was my legitimate reaction. It was so cold.
Tuesday and Wednesday we were really chill. I had to work online, which wasn’t the greatest, but meant I didn’t have to take a full week off and I was able to be in my lounge clothes while doing it – so not all bad. We went out for dinner and ice cream a few times. And, this pretty little princess was running around all week. Who could be mad about that?

Thursday was our heading home day, but I dare not leave a city that contains an IKEA without visiting it first. Glam and I went for breakfast in the morning and then sped through the store. (We were there for only an hour and a half. I think that’s a record of some sort.)
On our way home, we stopped for lunch in Kentucky. We decided to stop at KFC for lunch and randomly stumbled upon the first ever KFC which holds a mini Colonel Sanders museum.

We got home late Thursday, I worked Friday and then I turned around to hit the road again on Saturday morning. (That portion of the trip coming soon.)
We had so much fun on our road trip. Now… where to next?
