The Last Few Weeks

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind. I have felt like I have been running a marathon and I am just now trying to catch my breath – figuratively and literally. (I have had a cold for the last two weeks and breathing has been a bit of a struggle.) Here is a quick rundown of my last few weeks.

1.)

Two weeks ago, I finished the last class of my undergraduate career. I did officially graduate in May of 2012, but I double majored in college. Instead of getting one degree with a double major listed, I was bound and determined to get two degrees. This meant jumping through a few loop holes in the system. After much debate and planning with the ladies in the registrar’s office, it was determined that I would withhold from taking one class – Spanish II, until after graduation. During the following commencement year, I could take this class, transfer the credit back to Olivet and get degree number 2! I took the class over the summer. This was a bit of a challenge since I took Spanish 1 the first semester of my freshman year, but with the help of my ever so talented husband, I finished the class!

I performed in a dance at Grace Community Church. I grew up dancing – mostly ballet and contemporary and did worship dance at my church as a child/teen. I messed around with a few classes in college, but nothing serious. I had been looking for an adult ballet class to attend just for fun when my friend told me about the dance ministry team at her church. She said they were looking for more dancers for a baptismal piece and wanted me to join. I had about 5 weeks to learn the whole piece and appreciated the patience of the instructor to help work through my rusty skills. I realized just how much I missed dancing in the process. I should be getting the video of the piece soon and I will post it when I do.
