A few weeks back, Philip was invited to speak at his home church to update them about his ministry here in Indianapolis and really to give his testimony. He stood up in front of the church and said, “Well I am here today to tell you I have a really boring testimony – and I blame you for that.”
Ikea Desk Hack
A new desk for the Baby Bungalow and new Ikea hack. This project only cost $40 to complete. Inspiration, step-by-step directions and more pictures included.
Last Christmas, Philip and I had to unexpectedly move over Christmas break so we weren't able to put up any Christmas decorations. This year was our first Christmas in our very own house, and I could not wait to decorate. We went out the week before Thanksgiving to cut down a live Christmas tree. The experience was less than magical as it was pouring down rain, but we still found the perfect tree. Now that Christmas is over, I am a little reluctant to pack everything up and take the tree out to the curb. I am hanging on for just a little bit longer...
The Last Few Weeks
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind. I have felt like I have been running a marathon and I am just now trying to catch my breath. These weeks have included finishing my second degree, a dance performance, meeting our new nephew, a business trip to New York and family vacation.
A Second Shoot
We took a second photo shoot after our wedding to get some of the couple photos that we didn't have time to get on our wedding day. It was fun to get dressed back up and was a lot more relaxing than our first shoot. We went through a hay field, climbed a tree, and took a walk through the woods to get a few of these shots. Although it wasn't a complete "wreck the dress" photo shoot - my dress was pretty filthy when we were finished, but it was well worth it. Thanks to Nick Garcia at Common Thread Photo for his amazing work.
One Year Later
It is hard to believe that is has already been one year since I said "I do" to my amazing husband. Our first year has been a crazy, wonderful adventure. I feel so blessed to have him in my life and truly love married life. We got married on July 14, 2012 in Lowell, MI. Our reception was held in at a local airport in an airplane hangar. Here are just a few pictures from that day just a year ago.
10 days & 1,800 miles
In the last week and a half, Philip and I have traveled over 1,800 miles. Since we have been married (just under 9 months), we have been to 11 states and 2 countries. Our latest adventures took us to North Carolina to see my wonderful cousins Glamorie, Kip, Rick, Kason and Kaya and my Titi (Aunt) Fefy.
Ikea Rast Hack
I am a lover of Ikea Hacks. One of my favorite hacks is with the $35 Ikea Rast 3-drawer dresser. I have seen several variations of this hack, so I decided to try my own.
Food labels are so confusing in regards to what is healthy and what isn't. Have you ever just wished you could walk into a grocery store and there be a beacon of light or gold stars shining on the real health food items? I would be happy to buy it and eat it if I knew what “it” was.
Well – introducing Fooducate.
